John Smoltz’s Teton County property in foreclosure

According to Teton County records John Smoltz’s property is scheduled for a foreclosure auction later this month.
The foreclosure auction comes after Wells Fargo pushed Smoltz’ property through the foreclosure process, as the former Braves pitcher owes the lender roughly $1.6 million on a lot in the Snake River Sporting Club.
He took out the loan in 2005 to purchase this troubled development for the amount now owed to Wells Fargo.
Smoltz was a major league pitcher for more than two decades. He spent a majority of his career with the Atlanta Braves, with whom he won a World Series Championship. He was an eight-time all-star and won the Cy Young Award in 1996.
The property is currently set to go for foreclosure auction Aug. 23.
Smoltz’s foreclosure auction case is one of those moments in life when no one wants other’s attention: a negative publicity. This auction affects his name and reputation, although he could avoid that.
